Stokke Strengthens Global Approach with Computop and Demandware

Computop, a leading payment service provider (PSP), has today announced that it has been selected by Stokke, the innovative Norwegian children’s furniture and equipment brand, to support Stokke’s new e-commerce business.

London, United Kingdom – 6 August 2014 - Founded in 1932, Stokke has become synonymous with innovation and unique, ergonomic design which, since 2006 has focused exclusively on children´s furniture and equipment within the highchair, stroller, baby carrier, home textiles and nursery market segments. Stokke already provides worldwide distribution through selected retailers represented in around fifty countries, but through it new e-commerce business, Computop will be instrumental in supporting its expansion into new marketplaces including the USA, Canada and EMEA.

Computop’s Paygate 6.0 platform will be delivered via Stokke’s existing Demandware Commerce implementation, building on the PSP’s long-standing membership of Demandware’s LINK community. A pre-built and approved integration to the Demandware Commerce platform with Computop’s Paygate cartridge provides Stokke with a seamless, compliant and secure processing of domestic and international ecommerce payment transactions to its customers.

Christian Øvregaard, Global E- Commerce Director at Stokke comments, “The strength of Computop’s partnership with Demandware was pretty compelling for us when choosing the right payment solution for our new e-commerce platform. This is about driving our global approach, so that single point of integration together with secure, local choice was key. We’re also confident that this will support a good conversion rate for us.”

The latest version of Computop’s multichannel global payment platform offers new features and functionality that make it even easier and faster for merchants to power their e-commerce businesses, and is fully SEPA enabled in preparation for the forthcoming pan-European payment harmonization initiative.

This brings a single payment gateway for secure transactions between Stokke and its customers, as well as providing access to the most relevant payment solution for customers in their local market.

Computop CEO Ralf Gladis adds, “For online retailers, application integration can be as much as 50 per cent of the overall cost and time required for implementing new e-commerce technologies. The pre-built integration between Computop Paygate and Demandware Commerce can significantly reduce implementation time, ultimately translating into measurable cost and time savings for customers like Stokke. As well as faster access to markets, this gives retailers real confidence in the mix of secure payment methods they offer through their e-commerce businesses, to drive conversions and customer satisfaction.”

As Stokke expands its global footprint, the family-run business intends to include more payment solutions via the Computop/ Demandware platforms, and continue to adapt to local payment needs for their customers.
