Computop and CardinalCommerce Partner to Enable Retailers to Minimize Fraud in Online and Mobile Commerce

Partnership Provides Retailers with Comprehensive, Secure Payment Solution with Rules-Based Consumer Authentication Functionality for their Domestic and Global Commerce Needs

New York and Cleveland, OH – October 14, 2015 – Computop, a leading payment service provider (PSP), and CardinalCommerce, the global leader and pioneer in the remote payments industry since 1999, today announced a global strategic partnership that will help retailers improve their authorization rates and reduce their fraud risk. Through this relationship, Computop has integrated Cardinal Consumer Authentication into the Computop Paygate platform, providing retailers in the US, Europe and other key international markets with secure, guaranteed payments and the best possible conversion for their e-commerce and mobile operations, including cross-board transactions.

Online credit/debit card transactions have significantly lower authorization and much higher fraud rates compared to POS commerce. The Computop and Cardinal partnership provides retailers with technology to improve authorization rates and mitigate online fraud while supporting retailers’ needs for a seamless consumer experience.  With Cardinal’s proprietary Consumer Authentication technology and know-how, retailers can increase sales, reduce risk and keep control of the consumer experience. As a result, there are fewer check-out abandonments and less false positives, improved margins through lower interchange rates, a liability shift on chargebacks and less manual reviews, all tuned to the consumer experience. These capabilities, coupled with Computop Paygate’s existing security features and significant number of local and international payment methods, along with its strong fraud prevention functionality, enables retailers to securely drive business within the US and globally.

“We are very excited about our partnership with Computop, as it allows us to further extend our offerings to global merchants,” said Alasdair Rambaud, Senior Vice President, Merchant Services, Cardinal.  “It also enables us to provide our Customers with more payment options for serving consumers abroad.”

“By partnering with Cardinal, we are continuing to provide our retail clients with the most robust payment platform that includes the latest state-of-the-art security functionality,” said Ralf Gladis, CEO of Computop. “Together, Computop and CardinalCommerce give merchants a complete, highly secure payment solution that enables them to not only bolster sales in their own backyards but also to efficiently and effectively conduct business on the other side of the world.”

Cardinal’s rules-based Consumer Authentication is currently available to Computop Paygate customers.
