Wargaming Selects Computop to Cut Costs and Increase Reliability of International Payment Processing

Computop, a top payment service provider (PSP), has been selected by leading free-to-play developer and publisher Wargaming to process payments within Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.

London, United Kingdom — 01 October 2015 — Computop, a top payment service provider (PSP), has been selected by leading free-to-play developer and publisher Wargaming to process payments within Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.

Following a strategic review of its payments partners to streamline, reduce costs and enable further global expansion, Wargaming chose to increase its roster of payment service providers. From the Global Payments Department’s shortlist of potential providers, Computop, one of the most well-respected and trusted providers, was selected to supplement Wargaming’s bespoke in-house payments consul. The Company’s blend of unique technical capabilities and easy to integrate technology provides solid infrastructure to grow and adapt.

Since its initial live date in January 2015, the Computop payment solution has been developed to process Paysafecard payments by Wargaming users in over 35 countries, European-wide SEPA Direct Debit, EPS, and Przelewy24 in Poland. By providing standardised settlement files for all payment methods Computop helps Wargaming to automate reconciliation and accounting.  Moving forward, Computop has also been selected to process a number of other payment methods targeted for release later in 2015.

Wargaming reports that the cost of processing transactions has significantly reduced and, since the system went live, there has not been a single instance of down time.

Matthieu Chappelle, deputy head of global payments at Wargaming commented: “After recently reviewing our payment services, we concluded that as well as needing to cut our transactional costs, the business also needed to focus on increasing the reliability of its payment processing. It highlighted the risk involved in just one provider processing 90% of our payments across EMEA.
After reviewing the whole of the market, we chose Computop because of their technical expertise and track record at integration. They’ve saved us time, reduced our costs and have greatly increased our stability and availability.”

The solution for Wargaming combines Computop Paygate with bespoke integration into an in-house payment system. Computop Paygate is a PCI DSS and PCI P2PE certified payment platform that provides multichannel service providers and retailers with secure payment solutions and efficient fraud prevention for international markets. Within a single interface, Computop Paygate allows retailers access to over 150 payment methods and acquiring banks including all relevant local and international payment options for e-commerce, MOTO, mobile payment and POS solutions.

Leading e-commerce solutions from the likes of Demandware, hybris, Intershop, Magento, Oxid eSales and SAP Business ByDesign all support Computop Paygate as a preferred payment service solution for global payment processing.

“Offering outstanding local payment options comes with knowledge, experience and technical know-how,” commented Ralf Gladis, CEO of Computop. “We began working with Wargaming on this project in September 2014. Our initial brief was to do a detailed analysis of requirements, identify key areas of development and handle integration with Wargaming’s in-house bespoke payment console. The benefits of increasing the choice of payment options included greater availability and stability, and lower costs. Most importantly, it has provided a more streamlined service for the company and its users. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Wargaming.”
