Computop Introduces New Credit Card Wallet with Visa Click to Pay

Bamberg, Germany – March 11 2021 – Computop, a leading global payment processor, has today announced that it is making the Click to Pay with Visa e-wallet available to retailers in Germany and Europe following its successful launch in the US last year.

Once registered in the wallet, customers can pay immediately with their credit card without entering any further data. This will enable much simpler online transactions, facilitated by Computop transferring card data in the background, while the invoice and shipping address are transferred automatically.

A Visa Token is used to ensure the security of customer data. All card features are encrypted for each transaction and transmitted with a cryptogram. This procedure also impacts positively on the transaction risk analysis, which helps to avoid the inconvenience of separate authentication of the cardholder in accordance with the PSD2 regulation. For retailers the benefit is an increase in conversion rates at the checkout and prevention of purchase cancellations.

Click to Pay with Visa follows the EMVCo Secure Remote Commerce Standard and will, therefore, be open for further international payment options.

Stephan Kück, CEO at Computop, said: "Computop and Visa have been working together intensively for over 20 years to promote debit and credit cards in online commerce. We are delighted to introduce Click to Pay, the most secure and convenient standard of its time, to German e-commerce."
Volker Koppe, Head of Digital, Central Europe at Visa said, "At Visa, we are delighted to have a strong partner like Computop on our side and to work together on innovations to make the payment landscape more digital. With Click to Pay, we are launching a new contemporary product that makes the online payment process simple, seamless and secure. For many retailers, establishing an online presence is a matter of survival at the moment - a simple payment process is an essential factor for a successful purchase."
