Bamberg, 9 August 2016 – Computop is set to be the central contact point for matters relating to ‘Payment in over-the-counter trade and e-/m-commerce’ at dmexco in Cologne between 14 and 15 September this year. The company will have 99 square metres of space at hall 7.1/stand E-041 – just look for the ‘Competence Center Payment’ slogan! As the first payment service provider to have an ultra-secure P2PE POS solution, Computop and its experts will use the event to showcase this impressive encryption technology, which provides greater security and a better payment experience at the point of sale.
“Retailers are having to deal with theft of card details on an increasingly regular basis. It’s hard to put figures on the potential damage when you think about the fact that there are 100 million of the old EC cards (now girocard) in circulation in Germany alone. Add to that the fact that restaurants and retailers debit around 110 billion euros in cashless payments from their customers’ accounts each year, and it really does beg the question: what is actually stopping traders from protecting their customers’ card details more effectively?” says Ralf Gladis, co-founder and managing director of Bamberg-based payment service provider Computop, providing some background information on the development of its P2PE POS solution.
Eight partners at the trade fair
Computop is continuing with its successful partner model this year, and will be working alongside eight other well-known players from the world of payment processing – ensuring that ‘Competence Center Payment’ will have a strong core of expertise. The event will provide visitors with an opportunity to discuss the specifics of their own individual topics and challenges, as well as general solutions, with providers such as Akamai, CCV Deutschland, Deltavista, European Merchant Services (EMS), Ideal-Fullservice, MUUME, PayU and SCHUFA.
Visitors will also learn how to optimise their mix of payment methods for Germany, Europe and other markets such as Brazil and China. Other payment-related topics, such as ‘mobile commerce’ and effective fraud prevention, will also be covered at Computop’s stand.
